Dinner at Lau Pa Sat

It was really a tiring day for the four of us. Thanks for a short nap at the hotel, re-energized but still I feel sick. Have to get up and meet Mr. Valedictorian at the hotel lobby. Itinerary for tonight is dinner at Lau Pa Sat then city stroll (MBS, Helix Bridge, Merlion Park).

Mr. Valedictorian walked us from the hotel to the nearest MRT station. My God! It was a 30 minute walk, and imagine it doubled my sickness.

In Singapore, your feet and your knees are your best friend. It should be strong and sturdy or else you won't enjoy the places. LOL! It was a long walk again from the train station to Lau Pa Sat. Met Carol at the interchange. Chismax to the max! :)))))

We dined at Lau Pa Sat street hawkers. First food at Singapore. I really enjoyed it. Super yummy, happy tummy. I looooove the cereal prawns the most. Chili crab next. During weekdays, street hawkers in Lau Pa Sat are open from 3PM onwards. Just some trivia: Lau Pa Sat means "Old Market".The place is like our own "DAMPA" or "Banchetto" but it has more stalls to choose from. No live bands performing. Many Filipinos too. Safe place to eat, clean and fun, cool ambiance (tall buildings as back-draft). ^_^

Accidentally, my former officemate saw me at Lau Pa Sat. Of course, picture opportunity again.

Since I'm still feverish, the city stroll was re-scheduled. Have to have a good night sleep, big day tomorrow at USS.

Arrival at Singapore

Stepping out from the plane, a carpeted passage way and cool ambiance welcome us. Truly, Singapore's Changi Airport is one of the best (as for me, since it is the first international airport I've been to). Clean and comfy restrooms with branded tissue and liquid soap, very convenient walkalator, a lot of seats and of course many different shops to choose from.

Changi in Singapore ranked 2 as world's best airports.

Unfortunately, I'm in fever when we board off but not too high for the fever detection system to discover. LOL! Needed total rest. Very toxic as we traveled from Pangasinan - NAIA - SG.

Just got off from the plane with Arman and Mary Jane. Mayann took this picture.

They say Singapore's tap water is clean and safe to drink despite the fact that it is being "recycled". I tried the airport's drinking fountain. The water tastes good and it's cold (kewhl). :))))

Managed to post for a picture even though I feel very sick

The second thing we did at the airport (first is to find the nearest restroom) was to look for the highest "bidder" for our peso(s). :))) As 3 of us are accountants, we really did the Math and computation. Well, if we changed in the PI, our peso(s) to SGD could be sold at a lower price. Meaning, we lost by P2.00 per SGD. Mary Jane keep mumbling about this "bankruptcy" every minute and every hour of that day. That's the effect to her (accountant kasi). LOL!

From the airport, we took the cab going to our hotel (Fragrance Hotel - Joo Chiat). Of course, we are amazed of their taxi. A Mercedes-Benz taxi, computerized meter, accepts credit card and good air conditioning. Cool isn't it? Wish PI have this.

The road to our hotel is similar to Baguio and Makati. Trees and flowering plants are all over. Green place, you cannot see any unwanted garbage at the pavement. Really an amazing place!

I forgot to take pictures of our room and the hotel. I'm disappointed with our room. Their family room is leveled to PI's standard single room. It's too small for a family.

Singapore February 2012

It really came to me by surprise, nah that's understated I was astonished when our high school class Valedictorian decided to award us a trip to Singapore (all expense paid). Yeah right... all expense paid baby. :))))

Of course, though I'm busy being a full time "mom" I did not hesitate to join the trip. Luckily my husband  is very supportive with this (grateful for having him).

It was late December 2011 when I was told of the trip and from then on I was uber inclined with the planning and researching. I am the master of OC kasi.

Originally 6 are invited but unfortunately 3 were unable to join due to work issues and NSO issue. I supposed to cancel my ticket also because my daughter was hospitalized for three days a week before the scheduled trip. But my husband ensure me that she will take good care of our baby and pushed me to join the trip.

Mayann, Mary Jane and myself plus Armando (a close friend of our sponsor and a high school classmate) who shoulder his own air fare board Jetstar flight number 3K762 on February 17 @ 10:40 AM.

Oh before that, we skittishly passed through the immigration office. Some nerve wracking questions that might offload one of us if they want to trip. Lolz... ^_^

Some pictures in NAIA Terminal 1 and boarding Jestar.
